Born from
Cherry Blossom Rivers
Sakuragawa means cherry blossom river — a name that carries the spirit of fleeting beauty, seasonal patience, and quiet grace.
Where Bangsar Meets Ibaraki
Sakuragawa by Mihachinodo was born from a simple vision: to bring the quiet, considered beauty of Japanese dining to Kuala Lumpur — without compromise on faith or flavour.
The name Sakuragawa (桜川) takes its soul from the rivers of Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan — where cherry blossom petals drift downstream each spring, carpeting the water in pink and white. It is a moment that lasts only days, yet stays in memory for years.
That same philosophy guides everything we do. Dishes crafted slowly. Spaces designed for stillness. Flavours that arrive with intention and linger with warmth.
Mihachinodo (三八千道) — the three pathways to ten thousand destinations — reflects our commitment to exploration, mastery, and discovery through the language of food.
Three Principles, One Table
Wabi-Sabi
We find beauty in imperfection and impermanence. Handmade ceramics, seasonal ingredients, dishes that change with the calendar — nothing is forced into permanence.
Omotenashi
Japanese hospitality means anticipating needs before they are spoken. Every guest is received with full attention, warmth, and care — without expectation of return.
Seiketu
Cleanliness of spirit, ingredient, and preparation. Our Muslim-friendly kitchen is built on standards that honour both the guest and the craft.
Japanese Excellence, Halal Assured
We believe that faith and flavour are never in conflict. Sakuragawa is designed from the ground up to be a space where Muslim diners can eat with complete confidence and peace of mind.
